If you've been following this blog for the many, many months of intense posting, you know that my cat, Oscar, was running the show for a while. In case you didn't sense the sarcasm in the previous sentence, let me just say that he was not doing a very solid job. He refused to write a single book review. I'm not sure that he even read anything. He napped a lot. He bit my leg a few times as I passed through the living room. He dipped his tail into my bath water while lounging by the tub. Not once did he pick up a book. In light of his laziness, I have decided to take over his blog. He has allowed it on one condition: I proclaim myself the librarian's cat so everyone remembers who's in charge here. Of course I know that this feeds a certain sterotype regarding librarians and cats. The thing is, cats and librarians just fit so well together. While I'm at it, I can admit that I love to wear cardigans and practical shoes. I'm sure a few librarians out there don't actually love cats enough to let one boss them around, but I am not among their ranks. I do as Oscar says in order to avoid a few more bites to my calves. He's pretty sweet when he wants to be. Things could be worse!
Anyway, that was an awful lot of cat talk. The real motivation for this post is to let you know that I fully intend to start posting regular reviews. Expect me to focus mostly on YA fiction because that is what I read most of the time. It's my job, and it's fun stuff!
